Get a general with 4 command points (5 regiments). Armoured reiters are worth considering as well.

I recomend an old type regiment (veterans). Fantastic firepower.

Swedish are great!

The National Regiment has 6 bases of armored Reiters

I chose 'new type' because I want a Scottish Regiment, which I believe wouldn't be 'old type'... though I could easily be wrong

Scottish regiments in this war were very rare - probably only 2 or 3 were enlisted - and they wouldn't look any way different from German units.

I know they're rare, I just like the idea of them. As for choosing new over old type, their pike units were unlikely to be armored, and I don't believe the Scots used Spanish muskets. As for appearance, I suspect a more uniform look than German units (Scotland was one of the First countries to have a 'uniform'), and there's the inevitable St. Andrew's Cross flag

Enlisted regiments didn't use uniforms, after all it would cost colonel extra to pay for uniformed clothes. I don't believe that there is any evidence of such uniformed enlisted units in Charles X Gustav's army - it's completely different situation than during Gustav II Adolf reign. Not sure what You mean by writing Scotland was one of the First countries to have a 'uniform', after all Scottish units serving in Europe always received clothes from their employers.

What I mean by Scotland being one of the first counties to have a uniform is that from the 1630's Scotland's armies were essentially uniformly dressed in hodden grey (the cloth was as common as dirt). If a regiment were raised in the mid to late 1600's in Scotland, the Colonel, as you rightly say, would go for inexpensive... which would mean mostly hodden grey. The amount of variation to that would depend on how long the regiment was in Swedish service.
