Hi
A quick question are Tartar Warriors considered light cavalry?

I believe their stat page lists them as so, besides, they have Feigned Flight which is only for Light Cavalry.

All Tatar cavalry are light cavalry, except the elite warriors (elite cavalry).
The feigned flight rule basically gives them that rule, which also works for the elite warriors, since elite cavalry mova as if in open order.

Well. Feigned Flight includes the Light Cavalry rule.
So does that mean that Tatar Elite Warrior (which also have the Elite Cavalry rule) can choose to be in true Open Order if they want?

Unless I am missing something, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Feigned Flight includes the Light Cavalry rule as mentioned so, yes, anything with FF as a special rule is LC. The ability to be open order does not automatically allow LC status.

The elite warriors are allowed the feigned flight (as if light cavalry). It was confirmed by Wargamer, although I can't find the reference.

They can not be placed in open order, since that's part of the way elite warrior is ruled. At the end of each movement phase the unit just be in base-to-base formation. It just moves like open order (each base individualy, yet ending in base-to-base).

It basically means that all tartar warriors (including elites) are rather difficult to get hold of .. they run like hell, just to await you further away.

So not all Elite Cavalry, just Tatar Elite Warriors. Makes sense. If anyone could pull it off, it should be the elites.

Elite Cavalry ist just a special rule. Feigned Flight is also just a special rule. But Feigned Flight also includes Light Cavalry. Elite Cavalry (rule) doesn't include Light Cavalry (rule). Because of this my question.

Indeed, both are special rules.
But elite cavalry with feigned flight (like elite warriors) is allowed to evade and then automatically succeeds the test, so can turn their front to the pursuer.
The last was confirmed to me by Wargamer, I just can't find the reference.

It gives the elite warriors a unique capability, being the only (as far as I could find) unit that has both rules.

Well, Tatar Elite Cav. is a unit created within the first edition rules, where those rules were not contradicting.
Now the 'elite cavalry rule' takes precedence over feigned retreat in a matter of formation - they move in the same way as pancerni, need to stay in close formation but can measure distance as in open order. They can use feigned retreat though.
I think it should be in the last FAQ
