Fantastic video with maps of the nations of Europe during the last 2500 years. Quite astonishing to see how large the PLC was in its heyday, and how quickly it disappeared. Beware of sudden mongols crossing the road!

True. The PLC was for some time the largest country of Europe. Ot also had the largest percentage of novels. Up to 10% of its population in some areas while other countries had 2-3%.

BTW - this % really depends on researcher, normally there are numbers of between 8-10% but I also seen them as low as 6.5.

BTW would it be possible to increase the image upload size limit? The only alternative is to host images on other sites like Photobucket, and we all know the dangers about that (as Anatoli can testify).
