You attack as normal, enemy unit flees again, you pursue

there is also this line in the rulebook "fleeing bases contacted in melee are destroyed immediately", so the OP is correct.

depending on your flight and the follow-up charge this might apply to several bases. the rest of the unit would continue to flee, yes.

What is the context of this line?

Bases that flee through enemy are destroyed, but when you do regular charge/pursuit into fleeing unit you just fight.

I am referring to p61 of the english beta pdf

Any Bases that contact an enemy Unit while Fleeing
are automatically destroyed and removed from the
table. In addition, all the Bases that finish their Move
within 2cm of an enemy Unit are also destroyed.

of course the English text is worded in a way that it is not clear whether "fleeing" refers to the status or the movement. if the former, this would technically apply to all contact while the unit is flagged as fleeing, such as being target of a charge.
If the latter, it can also interpreted your way.

Proper wording should be like this:

Any Bases that contact an enemy Unit during theirs fleeing movement
are automatically destroyed and removed from the
table. In addition, all the Bases that finish their Move
within 2cm of an enemy Unit are also destroyed.

I will report that to Witold.

Thank you for the clarification and the reporting. during their flight movement or similar would clarify this rules part quite a bit.

There are quite a few positions where I would be interested how the wording is actually in original Polish. I will try to be more active posting these here, so they can be resolved by the community.

You can take Polish version of beta rules for original wording. Paragraphs positions are roughly identical.

Unfortunately my Polish is... well, bad :)
Actually my wife is in fact Polish, but I can only bother her with semantics of my hobby this much; and that is what it boils down to when trying to find the differences in wording.

In general I think it helps if more Polish players would venture from the upper forum down here in the "international" section :)

As you can see, the way it is formulated states that if the fleeing unit contacts enemy units. Thus, it is not destroyed when it is contacted by another unit.

So, bases that contact an enemy are destroyed.
Bases that are contacted by an enemy are not destroyed.

This is also the way it is explained by all the polish players, and by the writers of the rules.

Cheers,
Zagin
