Hi everyone,
im hoping that at some stage in the future, there will be an expansion for 1670's 1690's...
Until then, On my way! advice please on polish "western infantry"
The musketeers had muskets and bardiche axe.
How many pikemen were there in a unit? I believe that there were some pikemen although not many..
In what ratio would you model them?
Any suggestions as to unit size and ratios? ( in terms of models)
Appreciate all your help

I have heard rumours that there might be a larger army rule set coming out..is that true?
Regards
Peter

If it will come, very far future. There were some other plans announced and even those will take a few years, especially with the announcement of faction army books.
There will be a set of rules for army sizes between the existing skirmish and divisional games.

Can not help with the other questions I am afraid. 8)

Problem with Polish infantry regiments of Sobieski's era was that they were in fact rather demi-regiments, with fairly low strenght (few were grouped into brigades during the battle, to have fair size). So your normal regiment would be probably just four base company, with maybe one of them having pikemen. I would suggest to field full size (8 companies) new type regiment, with just 3 bases of pikemen (so minimum you can take) and treat that as few regiments grouped together as a brigade.
