I'm using the term flags here (even if incorrect) to differentiate them from units called banners. Please correct me in my use of terms.

I have started painting the Polish skirmish set with cossack style and command base, not yet started pancerni and wallachian.
In the set there are three sheets of flags - 1 command (2 red based, 1 blue based flag), 2 cavalry (1 sheet red based, 1 sheet blue based).
Question 1: Would all of the banners (units) in a skirmish group (the set) be from the same regiment? If not, which would be different? (maybe Wallachians?)
Question 2: Should banners from the same regiment have the same base color for their flags? (ie I should use all red based or all blue based?)
Question 3: I'm picking one color to be the majority coat color in the unit, using it for all of the command figures' coats. Does this make sense?
Question 4: If yes to 3, does it make sense for that to be consistent with the flag base color?
Thanks in advance,
Phil

1. Often yes but it wasn't a rule
2. Big NO here :-D Regiments of national cavalry in P-L armies were organised ad hoc , their structure was very flexible.
3. No, that's wrong for national cavalry - winged hussars, pancerni, cossack style and light cavalry. They didn't have standard uniform, as each soldier was wearing his own clothes. So total mix is required if you want to have historical accuracy
4. See above

Thanks for that. I'll just mix it up then.
