This list is being led by a foreign commander, who is obviously a leader of New Style troops like Reiters.

What would such an individual wear? Would he stick to his original Western style of clothing? Or would he adapt to local clothing styles to fit in with his troops?

In other words, if I wanted to create Lieutenant Colonel Douglas, should I use a Muscovite Reiter figure as a base and give him a new head, but retain the kaftan robes? Or should I use a Swedish or Imperial commander figure wearing a cuirass?

Thanks Kadrinazi!

Would you have some historical images for inspiration?

Would the foreign style of clothes also extend to the banner bearer and the musician? In other words, would a foreign commander bring his own staff with him or recruit locally?

No, only officers and some NCOs would be foreigners, rest - including musician and ensign - should be Muscovite. For inspiration just use portait of any Swedish commanders from that period, it should be fine :) There's only one foreigner dressed as Muscovite I know - general Leslie at the siege of Riga - but his case was unique so he probably didn't have any other option that just dressed in Muscovite fashion.

Ok, thanks!

I'm thinking of ordering these two officer figures:

Because they are wearing the full armour that my Muscovite Reiters are feared for.

I wouldn't go for 3/4 armour, as it was not used at that time anymore (this minis are old fashioned types), use just breast and backplate officers instead.

Hmm, but there's a surprising lack of H.R.E. or Swedish officers who clearly have a breastplate. Any tips?

There are few but armour is not 'must have', after all it was personnal approach from the officer to have one. If he didnt want one/ couldnt afford (more likely) he just wear buff coat.
