Hi there :)

Now that i`m planing to build a Cossacks force i want to ask whattactics yoi have used with them? How is your force composition? Battlerepoprts would be nice.
I still have to wrap my brain apround the idea to use the Wagon Train. After all this is a very unique feature of the Cossacks and seems to be an integral part of Cosack strategy.

Cossacks are cool! iconKOZ

You can make a 7/8pts list from the Skirmish set which is fun to play.

Amalgamate the two Moloitsy units into one with eight bases, they see off most things and keep them and the Registered Moloitsy close the War Wagons.

Use the Mounted Cossacks to wizz round the battlefield taking objectives and tying up enemy units but remember they do not do well in Close Combat.

I am going to add another Skirmish Set to get 2 x 8 Base Moloitsy, 1 x 8 Base Registered Moloitsy, 4 x War Wagons and 1 x 4 base Mounted Cossacks.

To this I am going to add 1 x 12 base of Cossack Rabble with a priest!

That should be a very interesting army to play with.

Hmm! It was looking a bit touch and go for that formation on Saturday. If we hadn't run out of time, who knows what would have happened. My Pancerni appeared to have the Moloitsy on the ropes and my Walachians had the mounted Cossacks tied up. A very interesting situation was developing. Pity we couldn't finish it off. A very good battle indeed. :)

Ah but you weren't playing me!

It would have been much easier for you if you had been! :(

I am now reading all of the different nationalities army lists and special rules!

Haha! Seriously, though, my last game was getting really interesting and the Command point system was just coming into its own, with some difficult decisions starting to emerge.

No, normal Cossack skirmish group cannot add monks to Cossack Rabble. You can field Cossack Rabble 'regiment' on its own as Skirmish group but it will be very difficult force to play with.
