With a little translation help, as far as I can tell the webpage quotes a book from 1967 on Ukrainian folkmusic (Гуменюк А. «Українські народні музичні інструменти» - «Наукова думка»). This book can be found online, and it quotes a book from 1930 (Хоткевич Г. Музичні інструменти українського народу). The author of that book has a wikipedia entry: Hnat Khotkevych. All of which confirms nothing. It is known that (big) drums (or kettle drums) were a symbol of Cossack life. But how big? Big enough to be put on a wagon? There seems to be very little real evidence. But apparantly some people like the idea that these existed.
