Hello fellow cossacks players. I have the skirmish set and I´m allready looking forward what I shall buy to expand my cossacks. But what do you suggest is good to buy after the skirmish set?

Another skirmish set is still a good idea. But also get the new "Armies of BFAS" book. It has new army lists for the Cossacks. These make it possible to field very different armies. You will need a lot of mounted Cossacks for these, and maybe Plastuny, Skirmishers and Tatars.

Thanks, I will propably check that book out. Seems a very good suggestion to buy a second skirmishbox and it´s great value too. So when it comes to miniatures that will be my next move :)

Another question, but this about the skirmish set.

It stand in the back that its a 6p army but when I check the points in the armylist I get it to 7p. I get to 4p in basic and then 1p for two wagons, 1p for cavalery and 1p for scouts. Why am I wrong with my counting?

The 1 point for scouts is not FSP, but for reconnaissance. ;)

Thanks for you help. If I understand right, then I get the scout for free, but if they want to use reconnaissance then it will cost 1p and make the skirmish box 7p in total? Otherwise it´s 6p as it stands on the box?

Ah, maybe now I am confused. You mean the Plastuny Scouts (I was thinking about the Scouts rule of the cavalry). I will have to check the book again to see how the list works with the skirmish set. Will take only 7 hours from now... 8-)

With the box you get 7 Reconnaissance points. 3 bases cavalry (3 points) 2 units of Scouts (2 x 2 points) = 7.

The Force in the box itself is worth 6 FSP (or 7 or 8 if you buy one or two extra Command Points for the Colonel).
It's just the base of the Skirmish Force (4 FSP), plus 2 Wagons (+1 FSP) plus 2 bases Plastuny (+1 FSP).
Switching the 3-bases Register Moloitsy Sotnia for Mounted Cossacks is free.

Also note that the Mounted Cossacks are Dragoons and can dismount, but unlike other skirmish sets the dismounted figures are not included in the box. The official answer is to buy more moloitsy to use as dismounted cossacks, but unlike the original figures the redesigned moloitsy look nothing like the mounted ones.

Luckily Michal at the Wargamer shop was kind enough to source some original figures from the Polish section of the forum. I plan on mixing both spear and musket on the same base to make them different from ordinary moloitsy, possibly even mixing in some skirmisher models for character. But I'm curious as to how other Cossack players have solved this dilemma.
