Post subject:  Colors for painting up Gdansk

From the description in the Armies of BFaS book it sounds like the militia was in Crimson and Black, with the mercenary Reiters also in similar dress. What about the mercenary infantry? I was pondering painting the coats black and shades of browns for the pants and leather straps and probably the hat as well.

Would it be correct to assume that due to the wealth of the city the units were more uniformly outfitted?

Should I be looking at other colors as well?

(feel free to respond in Polish, I can read it well but writing is much more slow)

Hi Luke :)

For mercenary reiters (as well as for infantry) use mix of different colors. If you're able to read Polish please check article about painting Swedish units (p.29). You may use those guidelines for any western type army :)

Miniatures are painted by Artur (author of article linked above and our main historical consultant, so you may trust they are painted properly).
