Ottoman division of European provinces arrayed for inspection. Waiting for the Beylerbey and commanders of regiments though.

Barebones sipahi sanjaks, weak provincial force, minimum janissary cemaat and weak Mirzas chambul. Commander personally commands the squadron of silahdar.

Mehter and some Ottoman command waiting for finishing bases.

Some tufecki and more command on the works. Seems to be more than I can field in a division but fun to paint so why not.
(I really like the Ottoman musicians and their hats.)

Nice :)
What colours you are using? Some look very glossy.

Last layer is usually mixture of floorpolish and ink - which is glossy.
I varnish them with matt varnish in bulk when ambient weather is on a bit warmer and relatively dry.

Floorpolish and ink? As a protective layer?

Protective layer and dip.
Gets those recessed areas darker.
I could paint over it for highlights once more to get cleaner colors, but I kind of like the dirty effect I get with it.

Some based and finished iconTUR units:

The marching band

Some new fangled weirdoes. Quite a change to paint - for once - guys in uniform clothing.

And my small horde of azabs:

Corrupting the next generation, first game of my son:
Image

My Ottomans are about to get thrashed. Situation is on turn 2 after orders, that squadron of dragoons appearing from ambush managed to throw back those azabs, kill that sahaloz and keep those tufecki pinned into a futile firefight long enough to become target of a charge by those elite cossacks sweeping from my left. Oh yeah and kill the flagbearer of the aga on round 4 so that the scared aga had no command points on round 5. :-)

Scenario take and hold. (His first game I fudged secnario choice so that we would not play attack the village when I have guns and loads of infantry. Also rerolled Cowardly commander hitting his colonel.) He showed impressive grasp of concentrating on the center objective in mid- to late game, even when he would have had a shot on charging down that hill and slaughtering the tufecki totally. Basic game mechanics taught in game 1, loads of special stuff still to by encountered.

That's a lot of troops! I like those 'fat' bases!
