Anyone playing and having success with this? Seems like an up hill battle from the start! :)

without looking at the list:
what makes you feel this way? certain price advantages/disadvantages? choices other lists have not? certain scenarios you feel are specifically difficult, certain mandatory list choices that are in the way? what are you picking, what FPS are we talking about?

etc etc :p

Uphill battle for the attacker you mean? Spanish Muskets are brutal.

... well first of all ...the Spanish muskets are nice... but with a Skill of4 ... most of the time ...say playing against Polish or god forbid Tatars ... its about impossible to hit anything ... and that's at close ... with the reroll past 10cm ... forget it ... lol

The list is about maxed is 9 FP ... but its all militia pretty much ... so even so ... its got such a low model count too ... man its so hard to cover things ...

maybe its just me

well spanish muskets are clearly more suited in defense, and 9pts is somewhat of a gamble in this concern. I would recommend to go lower. in skirmish you only have to last six rounds, but make sure its behind building walls or earthworks.

also, the reroll problem is obviously something everyone suffers (but cossacks, looking at you rifles), one more reason to defend. 4 is well standard, and you do score hits, even versus open orders. don't forget tartars have to check after every hit, you basically caseshoot with muskets. to be used at your advantage.

I personally don't like musketeers too much in skirmish, the low turn count makes it highly possible they will never see action, unless you really make sure you are defending, i.e. 6-7ish points. dragoons are your Swiss army knife here, capable to do both.

Well as it is here where I am in the US of A ... we don't have the movement of games as you do. I have rarely seen a skirmish with FP less that 9 ... as I think the trend here has been Western armies and those tend to FP it up with us novices. But yup your view is probably right ... but not really a worry for me. Hopefully the USA play will rise to the level of that in Poland. Cheers!!

If only they had the option to take one or two light guns like the Swedes...
